Why Move to Thailand ?

As the headline says, WHY should you move to Thailand?  There are numerous blogs on the internet dedicated to this question, but here are a few more reasons that you may not have heard of.

Thailand has a low cost of living relative to its Western counterparts, due in part to its lower cost of labor, de-centralized supply chains that source locally, and a lack of corporate-driven money grabbing that has created sustained inflation since the COVID-19 period in the West.

Thailand has a strong law and order governing approach, and as a result, crime and theft are especially low compared to increasingly dangerous and crime-ridden Western countries and cities.

Thailand is not part of the five-eyes, nine-eyes, or fourteen-eyes intelligence networks of the West, maintaining its digital sovereignty and control of its borders.

Thailand, unlike many of its neighboring countries, never took the ‘Silk Road’ Chinese debt trap, and as such is not beholden to China CCP influence over its State Industries and Finances, which have crippled the Laos economy, for example.  From 1997-2023, the Thai Baht was the World’s second best performing currency to the American Dollar, after the Swiss Franc, and the best performing ’emerging’ currency in the World vs. the American Dollar.  This proves Thailand’s strength as a place to invest and move foreign direct capital to.

Thailand has a strong education culture, with children required to attend school, and even wear school uniforms throughout the country during their learning years.  In additional there are a number of well-ranked private schools in Bangkok and other parts of the country for K-12 education.  Thailand also has a strong University system, with many highly ranked schools for in-country higher education.  Additionally, a significant portion of Thais in an around major Cities such as Bangkok are fluent in English.

Thailand has a large, well funded and trained Military, with a conscription requirement for young adults.  Thailand’s Military engages in annual training exercises with many of the World’s largest and most advanced fighting forces to always stay prepared for action.

Thailand has a Buddhist culture, whereby 90% of Thai’s identify as such.  This is evident in daily interactions of kindness, politeness, and a lack of confrontation with others.  This makes for a more peaceful and enjoyable existence day to day.

Thailand is blessed with beautiful nature, something that the Thai Government has worked hard at for decades to maintain, protect, and nurture through decades of growth in tourism and economic development, and is a main source of attraction for many visitors and long-term residents.
